What Has Carmine Coppola's New Book
Got To Do With The Upcoming Millennium?

It's All a Matter of Time…

WINNIPEG -
Carmine Coppola's new book, The Many Facets of Time, published by MIHC Press is an intriguing collection of poems that deals with Time and its ever present hold on our lives.

"It doesn't matter who you are or where you live" says Coppola. "Everyone can relate to this collection of poems because we've all experienced what I write about: love, youth, aging, expectations, the meaning of Time in our lives…Thinking about it is the key to understanding it."

Coppola's first work, Poems for Julia, published by MIHC Press in 1996, garnered favourable reviews from the media and readers alike. Coppola was also recently chosen as one of the featured authors in the Anthology of Italian-Canadian Writing
(
Guernica:Toronto, 1998).

He is currently at work on a new novel.

poems of love

From the Honourable Charles Caccia, Member of Parliament, Ottawa CANADA

Carmine Coppola's works embody important human values and profound reflections on life. I am particularly referring to his book, The Many Facets of Time.

Those who have read it will have remarked, as I did, the painful reflections on the  inevitable passing of Time: Time erodes even the most resistant rocks and takes with it those dear to us, and the years of our youth. But Time does not succeed in conquering our bonds to places and people we love...

With his rich and elaborate language, Coppola makes a place for himself in the long symbolic and reflective tradition of Italian poetry. In his poems about love, there are echoes of "dolce stil novo".
